The Genius of O. Shargei
O. Shargei belongs to the circle of pioneering researchers on a planetary scale, alongside Goddard in the U.S., Tsiolkovsky in Russia, and Oberth in Germany. It was they who laid the foundation of practical cosmonautics. Working completely autonomously, the self-taught engineer from Poltava proposed original engineering solutions and calculations that were decades ahead of their time. His 1929 book, "The Conquest of Interplanetary Spaces," is one of the most original in terms of mathematical purity of thought.
